What’s Coming Up at The Retreat House!

Updated: Nov 3

This is the best time of year to schedule some time with the Lord at The Retreat House! The temperatures are finally dropping, and we are lighting the fire pits. There is something calm and inviting about watching a wood burning fire. It invites stillness, meditation, and warmth.

As we enter this cozy season, make some time to be with God and hear from God. We have several exciting ways for you to do that. On Friday, November 8th, and December 12th we have our half day silent retreat. Silence is a rhythm worth cultivating. We take a rest from words, noise, and distraction to receive God’s presence and love. People often comment that it is a gift to be away from their phones. We need structured ways to do that! Then on Thursday, November 21st, from 6:00-8:00pm, Dr. Kevin Shelby and Allison Bradsher will lead a workshop on Listening to God. This topic is both simple and complex. We long to hear from God and follow God’s voice, and that is worth cultivating! We also encounter obstacles as we seek to do it. This workshop will offer teaching, practices, and a chance for question and response, as we dive into this crucial topic together. If you want to develop a life of listening, this is for you!  Sign Up Here

Open Hours this month will be offered on Wednesday, November 6th, Monday November 18th, Friday December 6th from 10:00-2:00 and December 6 from It has been a joy to see people coming to The Retreat House to take advantage of the quiet and beauty found just outside of our city.

Lastly, we wanted to go ahead and put the Advent Retreat on your radar! This will be offered on Sunday, December 8th, from 12:30-5:30. We must make time to pause during the holiday frenzy. Reserve your spot now, so as the activity picks up, you know that you have carved out a space for the presence of Christ to encounter you in the midst of the busyness. You will also receive an incredible resource for the season: Encountering Emmanuel by Heather Khym. It is full of meditations and journal prompts to help you reflect this Advent season. Sign Up Here
